We are the leading distributors of Harris soldering and brazing gas cutting and welding products, the largest distributor of Lincoln Electric products and, through SA Welding (SAW), can offer an impressive range of specialised welding solutions. Other names that we are proud to be associated with include Kelmeg Lifting Services (KLS) for top class rigging and lifting equipment, and UNIpower industrial generators, welding machines and welding accessories.

Since arriving at Renttech, the question I have been asked is ‘what is our strategy moving forward?’

In a nutshell, it is one of ‘business as usual’ – but with a renewed focus. The key to this renewed focus lies in Renttech’s valued customer relationships, where we will be striving to improve our service to both new and existing customers.

During this process, and the past few transitionary months, we greatly appreciate the continued strong support that we have had from our loyal customer base.

Renttech’s acquisition by Bidvest

Regarding our acquisition by the Bidvest Group, I am extremely positive. With all its acquisitions, Bidvest adopts a decentralised, entrepreneurial approach, allowing these businesses the flexibility to develop and grow their brands, while being responsible for their own success.

We will not be changing our successful business model, which has grown Renttech into a robust and sustainable company. However, we will continue to investigate innovative ways of offering our technical expertise and cutting-edge products in order to improve our customers’ overall Renttech experience.

The buy-in of the company’s key stakeholders – staff, customers and suppliers – is essential to achieve these future growth strategies. To improve customer service, there are a number of opportunities that we are keen to pursue.

Ahead of the technological innovation curve

As Renttech is very much a solutions-driven company - and given that industry and technology are constantly changing - we need to be ‘ahead of the curve’ in taking advantage of new technology to make our customers more productive, energy-efficient and cost-effective – to improve their bottom lines and returns-on-investment.

Through its high levels of innovation and user-friendliness, our advanced technology has other advantages, such as helping address the skills shortages that some of our customers are experiencing.

We are also renewing and enhancing our rental fleet to make sure it meets the company’s high standards, so that when a customer rents our equipment, they get that ‘as new’ experience; knowing that they are renting the latest and best technology available.

Developing the inherent excellence of our people

Inside Renttech, we have been engaging with our people on how to take the company to the next level of excellence. To this end, we are busy upskilling and developing new and existing staff members, as well as empowering the inherent management abilities of our middle management.
